The Rugby Club
Genre
The Main genre of The Rugby Club is special interest this is because of the sport that is discussed and the channel it is broadcasted on, as the title suggests the podcast discusses the sport of rugby, broadcasted every Thursday at 8:00pm on sky sports, the podcast is also educational and a discussion, the podcast discusses with a small panel the recent news, given their own expert opinions on the recent storys, the presenter also encourages the guest to expand their opinions, this is where the educational genre fits it a professional talks about topics with an in depth knowledge.
Format
The format of The Rugby Club is presenter led meaning its follows the format of a quiz/pannel show, the Presenter introduces each topic and keeps the show flowing, usually the podcast features two guests recently it Rory Best discussed the Rugby Player of the Year. I would expect the stereotypical listener to be male over 35, with a mid to well paid job, to understand the depth of knowledge discussed.
Codes and Convention
The Rugby Club falls into a couple of codes and conventions, opinion, subjectivity, bias and balanced. Subjectivity means that the podcast follows a certain topic, where that is the main basis of the podcast. as the podcast is a pannel type show each guest has their own opinion on the topic making their own opinion bias as their are giving one side of the story, this is where the presenter keeps a balanced discussion
